Do you want to joiN Choir?

Are you a student who is hoping to join a choir next semester? Are you a parent with a student who is interested in being in choir? We are here to help you navigate class sign-up and scheduling.

STUDENTS

If you are or will be in high school, you may be uncertain about how to fit choir into your busy class schedule. Many of the students who are currently in choir also have full loads of AP or IB classes, along with language classes, too. It IS possible to include choir in your full load and we want to help you. Here are some helpful tips:

  • Consider taking one of your core classes online. Tonka Online provides more than 40 classes, some of which you can even take in the summer.

  • Make an appointment with your counselor. Your counselors are rock star schedule planners and can make even the craziest course combinations work.

  • View a sample schedule here.

If you have any questions at all about signing up for choir in high school, or how to fit it into the rest of your classes, feel free to email either of the two high school choir directors. They are more than happy to help you become part of the lasting legacy of Minnetonka Choir!

PARENTS

You can play a key role in supporting your student as he or she plans to sign up for choir. We encourage you to help them with their audition (if they must audition for the choir of their preference) and help them in the process of arranging their classes.

One of the best ways that you as a parent can be supportive of your student in choir is by joining our booster club, Vocal Support. Vocal Support is a non-profit comprised of parents who are passionate about continuing to provide the life-changing opportunities that Minnetonka Choirs presents to the students involved and also to the community.
