Financial Assistance FOr Students
Vocal Support is committed to providing financial support to any student who may be in need of support to participate in a choir event or travel opportunity. Students requesting assistance may receive up to 50% of the total cost of the program. If the remaining cost is an extreme financial hardship, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Vocal Support Board.
The student requesting the funds will be expected to commit to participate in a minimum of fundraising opportunities as well as volunteer opportunities with their choral/director department.
Download the Student Grant request form and submit the completed form to minnetonkachoirs@gmail.com or submit it to your director.
STUDENT Scholarships
It is the privilege of Vocal Support to offer two types of scholarships for a select few graduating seniors every spring. Please note that the application deadline is strictly observed. The scholarship recipients will be announced at the Senior Celebration each year.
We offer two $1,000 Vocal Support scholarships and one $1,000 Minkler Scholarship.
The Vocal Support Scholarship
The Vocal Support Scholarship is for the choral student who is pursuing a post-secondary education and has expressly benefitted from their time in the Minnetonka High School choir program. This scholarship is funded by Vocal Support. The number of scholarships and amount of each scholarship is determined on an annual basis. The application deadline for the 2025/2026 school year is Friday, May 22, 2026.
The Minkler Scholarship
The Minkler Scholarship is named after Minnetonka Choir’s first choral director, Raymond Minkler. Vocal Support administers this award on behalf of the Minkler family whose vision is to strengthen Minnesota’s choral future. This award is intended to provide financial support to Minnetonka graduating seniors who plan to pursue a career in choral music. The application deadline for the 2025/2026 school year is Friday, May 22, 2026.
